Community Advocates for Responsible Expansion at Providence Holy Cross (CARE) is a coalition of local residents, non-profit community organizations, hospital workers, unions and religious leaders that have come together to work towards a responsible hospital expansion at Providence Holy Cross Hospital, located in Mission Hills.
We support improved health care facilities for the people living in the San Fernando Valley, and believe that the best way to achieve this goal is to guarantee that the expansion of Providence Holy Cross is carried out in a responsible manner. Before the proposed development proceeds, CARE is seeking to ensure that Providence addresses the project's full environmental impact on the surrounding communities and demonstrates that the expansion will meet the real needs of residents.
Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is owned by Providence Health & Services (PH&S), a 26-hospital company based in Seattle. The company is planning a 136-bed, $143 million expansion on its current site1.
